All information relates to adults over the age of 18. Membership of the Society is only open to adults.

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- Membership and membership renewal
- Contact information with donation
We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:
- Online purchasing of membership or donations via our website
We use the information that you have given us in order to know:
- Who is a member
- Who has given a donation.
- Communication of Society events
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
- We have a legal obligation.
We are required to know at all times who the members of the Society are for voting purposes at meetings.

You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by leaving the Society. To do this please contact our membership secretary by email at [email protected].
How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
We hold membership records locally as a password-protected Excel spreadsheet and within a Mailchimp password-protected secure account.
If membership is purchased via the website then some contact information and payment details are received and stored securely by Stripe Inc. Payment information is not stored in our local records.
Stripe Inc. retains payment information privately according to their own Privacy Policy.
Mailchimp Inc. retains membership information securely according to their own Privacy Policy.
We keep past membership status records for 5 years. We will then dispose of your information by deleting records from our spreadsheet and removing expired entries from our Mailchimp database.
