Welcome to Vernon Square Gardens

Vernon Square Gardens is a unique historic public space set in the heart of the town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight. These gardens have a long history. They are a beautiful oasis of calm open to everyone and maintained by volunteers from the Vernon Square Conservation Society. One of them said about the gardens:

"Most people think that the gardens are owned by the local Council but this is not so: the gardens are owned and run by the Society with the sole aim of keeping them open for all visitors to experience and enjoy!"

There's a lot to be said for Vernon Square Gardens- the gardens are open to all during daytime (locked overnight) so feel free to pop in and see for yourself! Please be aware that dogs (guide and assistance dogs excepted) are not allowed in the garden.
